RE: fifth wheel set up

We use the spring loaded pins and I added a 3/4 dia. ext. long I bolt bolted to each landing pad and bent to miss frame . These work like a handle and make it better to use .

RE: Allegheny National Forest - PA

There are a few good camp grounds in ANF, we go to the Merienville area lots of trails. It's a busy area in the summer, don't know about staying at trail heads but there is a Ranger station in area you could check with them to find out.

RE: What Damage Did Your Rig Suffer in Alaska?

We were in Alaska last year only had a small stone chip to winshild , easy fix and no damage to 5th wheel. The people with moterhomes in our caravan found out if they tied up there rear mud flap across the rear it through less stones on there toads , sounds strange but it worked . Just slow down some for on coming trucks and have fun .

RE: Dust or Stone Deflector

The deflectors help some but not much . We were there last year and there are a lot of areas that are under repair that are graval . The worst thing is the stones from on coming traffic , out of 19 units in our caravan almost every one had some kind of stone chip to the windshild .

RE: Internet, Cell Service in Yukon/Alaska

We did the whole Alcan Hwy and only had cell phone service in the larger towns . We have Sprint and it worked good with reg. or romeing service . Internet service was ok in camp grounds near larger towns . Most times you needed to be close to the office or laundry mat . Have a good trip .

RE: Exhaust Brake on 7.3 PSD

I have an exhuast brake on my F250 Super Duty from Banks an it works great. Used it a lot on our trip to Alaska. Too work right you need to get the Trans Command and Smart lock they help keep the Trans tork converter locked in so the break works better. This is more then $250.00 but worth it.

RE: Alaska Caravan

We went this year with Adventure Caravans , and had a great time . They do a great tour . You are with a group but traval from place to place on your own and meet at the next campground and a lot to see and do as a group also. Driving was from about 150 to 300 miles on travel days and we stayed 1 to 3 days at differant stops , lots of time for site seeing along the way . the group dinners and people we met were great .
